Home Extension Process
01 MEET
You will meet with a member of our design team to discuss your extension project. They’ll listen to your needs and requirements, ask key questions to shape the proposed scope of work, and review your budget range to ensure the design aligns with your financial expectations.
02 CONCEPT DESIGN
Following our meeting, our design team will create a draft Concept Design based on our discussions. Once it’s ready, you’ll meet with your designer again to review and ensure the extension design meets your expectations and accurately reflects your ideas. If needed, adjustments can be made to better accommodate your needs.
03 BUDGET ESTIMATE
After you approve the design, our team will prepare a Budget Estimate and preliminary specifications, utilising our industry expertise to help you stay within your chosen budget. We’ll review these with you to outline what’s included in the estimate for your extension and make any final adjustments if needed. We guarantee that our budget estimates will be within 10% of a fixed price quote/contract, based on the details from our initial meetings with you.
04 PRELIMINARY BUILDING AGREEMENT
Once you’re fully satisfied with the information provided, we can move on to the next step: preparing your documents. These will be presented in the form of a Preliminary Building Agreement, which includes Structural Drawings, Town Planning (if needed), Soil Reports, and final contract specifications.
05 CONTRACT
When you’re satisfied with all the relevant documentation, you’ll receive a Fixed Price Building Contract along with a detailed specification list for your custom extension. These documents outline your fixed completion date, homeowner’s warranty guarantee, insurances, permits, and a clear breakdown of what’s included in the final price, providing you with confidence and peace of mind.
06 BUILD
James the Director of Whitecon will oversee the build, ensuring it aligns with the plans and specifications. James & team also handles the daily coordination of trades and materials. He will assist you through the selections process and manage all administrative details.
06 AFTER BUILD SUPPORT
We guarantee our support long after your project is finished. In addition to the standard 3-month warranty review, we offer complimentary 6-week and 12-month warranty checks.
